EDITORIAL MANAGER

monitor all methods and
standards of editing, calling meetings where deemed necessary

liaise closely with Rota

draw up / review
regularly Guidelines' for Editors and ensure that new volunteer
Editors receive one

hold workshops for all
editors to improve standards of efficiency and ensure review of tape
content

produce / update

STANDARDS MANAGER
-
responsible for overall
standard of all aspects of tapes produced by STN
-
call regular meetings of
Standards Committee to review standards and procedures in all
departments of STN

draw up 'Guidelines for
Readers' and ensure all readers receive a copy

receive ail voice tests'
of potential new readers for consideration by committee
-
pass on promptly names
of newly approved readers to Rota Manager / Magazine Manager
-
hold workshops for all
readers to further improve reading standards
-
refer any volunteer
issues of major concern to Vice-chair/Chair and main committee

ROTA MANAGER
-
draw up in advance a
working rota for all production evenings
-
consult all volunteers
re their particular wishes / requirements
-
facilitate integration
of new volunteers through close liaison with both Standards Manager
and Volunteer Recruitment Manager
-
act as liaison person
for any emergency changes to rota

REGISTRATION AND DESPATCH
MANAGER
-
keep an up to date
record of all subscribers
-
monitor and check weekly
receipt / despatch of all tapes
-
follow up all queries,
messages, overdue tapes etc.
-
pass on 'feedback to
appropriate personnel
-
ensure all active
volunteers also receive tapes
-
keep Technical Manager
well informed of number of tapes requiring copying
-
through liaison with
Technical Manager ensure administrative volunteers are kept up to
date with how to use the computer facilities required to perform all
regular tasks
-
check emails and
disseminate information as necessary
-
ensure a foolproof
message system is used so no information is lost between volunteers

MAGAZINE MANAGER
-
overall responsibility
for magazine - content, production, format, standards
-
co-ordinate, interview /
talks as necessary
-
establish 'team' to
assist with interviewing, editing material, preparing readers,
technical assistance, copying of tape etc.
-
liaise with despatch
Manager over dates of issue
-
keep accurate records of
correspondence to ensure continuity of contacts made
-
maintain records of tape
content for future reference

|
FUND - RAISING MANAGER
-
co-ordinate all
fund-raising activities, including making contacts and carrying out
the necessary correspondence with outside bodies
-
initiate fund-raising,
both regular and one-off
-
liaise closely with
Secretary over requests for donations from outside
-
work closely with
Treasurer over requirements for funding
-
involve as many
volunteers as possible in fund-raising activities

|
PUBLICITY MANAGER
-
be responsible for all
forms of publicity
-
oversee production and distribution of publicity
materials
eg brochures,
posters etc. See that this is regularly updated.
-
act as liaison person
between the organisation and the press / media
-
seek opportunity to
actively promote the work of the organisation
-
provide publicity for
any special events the organisation may take part in

|
TECHNICAL MANAGER
-
responsibility for all
equipment and tapes i.e. acquisition and maintenance
-
ensure safety and
insurance off all equipment belonging to the organisation
-
keep an up to date
inventory of all equipment
-
oversee all volunteer
recording ‘technicians', including their training and the best use
of their expertise
-
maintain the computer in
good working order and arrange instruction for volunteers in it's
use
-
work closely with
Magazine Manager to ensure satisfactory production of the magazine
tape
-
oversee all copying of
tapes, including the magazine and one-off tapes

|
ONE-OFF TAPES MANAGER
-
liaise with person/s
requesting tapes as to suitability, cost, number, invoice and
procedures
-
where necessary arrange
for written quotation to be sent
-
arrange recording
sessions with technicians and approved readers
-
arrange for tapes to be
copied
-
where necessary arrange
with Despatch Manager for distribution of tapes
-
ensure customer
satisfaction, all monies received and passed to Treasurer, and
thanks and receipt are forwarded

VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT
MANAGER
-
receive all offers of
help from potential volunteers
-
contact all new
volunteers and arrange a visit to STN
-
ensure a 'volunteer
form' is completed
-
maintain accurate
records of all contacts made and correspondence received and report
regularly to committee
-
arrange all appropriate
integration of volunteers whatever area they choose to support
-
ensure new volunteers
are provided with information and contacts within the organisation
-
once a volunteer is a
working member ensure the volunteer contact form is passed to the
Secretary
-
liaise with 'Volunteer
Bureau' over recruitment
